This year’s theme for the Annual Giving Tree Project is “HELP WANTED: Santa’s Workshop” . The Giving Tree Service Project was developed in 2002 by the Catholic Campus Center at Washburn University to help benefit children of Topeka who are in need during the holidays. The children range in age from newborn through age 13.
This project offers Washburn students, faculty & staff the opportunity to come to the assistance of area children and their families during the holiday season. This year we have chosen the theme, “HELP WANTED: Santa’s Workshop”.
On November 5th the Giving Trees will go up in the following locations,The Catholic Campus Center at WU, 17th & Jewell, Campus Ministry at WU 17th & Boswell, the Washburn Student Government Association Office, Memorial Union (lower level), the Multi-Cultural Affairs Office, Morgan 110, the Living Learning Center lobby, and the Zeta Tau Alpha house.
We ask participates to pick a tag for either a boy or girl, or if they wish two or more, then to return the unwrapped gift/s with the angel tags attached to one of the six locations before Noon on Friday December 3. The organizations we are contributing to have requested that we do not wrap the gifts. The gifts will be delivered to Let’s Help, Door Step and The Topeka Rescue Mission on December 3rd. Thank you for opening your hearts to the area children of Topeka, Kansas during this most blessed season.
